Position Descriptions
Secretary/Treasurer: The secretary/treasurer is responsible for keeping minutes at meetings, keeping track of attendance, monitoring office hours, and other tasks related to keeping the Council running smoothly. As treasurer, this person must also work with the advisor to monitor the budget and fundraise.
Artistic Reflections Today Submissions Director: The submissions director acts as a liaison between the Women's Leadership Council and artists who submit artwork for the event. This director will recruit artists from UF and the local community who will contribute pieces to the art show.
Artistic Reflections Today Publicity Director: This member of the Council is responsible for making the campus and community aware of the event through publicity and marketing, including but not limited too creating fliers, writing press releases, and working with media outlets.
Women's Leadership Conference Assistant Director: The assistant director is available to help all members of the Women's Leadership Conference committee when necessary. They will help to coordinate efforts between the committee and overall Council and help keep committee members accountable and on track. The assistant director will also be responsible for securing a keynote speaker for the Conference.
Women's Leadership Conference Publicity Director: This member of the Council is responsible for making the campus and community aware of the Conference through publicity and marketing, including but not limited too creating fliers, writing press releases, and working with media outlets.
Women's Leadership Conference Workshops Directors (3): A large part of the Women's Leadership Conference is workshops, which educate Conference attendees on issues related to leadership, career, and awareness. Workshop directors are in charge of finding presenters for these workshops and the career panel. They will work as liaisons between the Council and these presenters.
Women's Leadership Conference Outreach Director: The outreach director acts as a liaison between the Women's Leadership Council and other student organizations on campus. Organizations will be made aware of the Conference and encouraged to sponsor members of their organizations to attend. The Outreach Director will work closely with the publicity director to gain the interest of student leaders at UF.
Women's Leadership Conference Facilities and Agenda Director: This member of the Council is in charge of coordinating all logistics for the Women's Leadership Conference, including room reservations, permitting, set-up, and catering. They will work closely with University staff in Event Services to make sure that the Conference is well-organized and professional. Additionally, the Facilities and Agenda Director will serve as the master of ceremonies during the Conference. Attention to detail and confidence in public speaking are necessary.
Women's Leadership Conference Participant Relations Director: The Participant Relations Director acts as a liaison between the Council and individuals registered to attend Conference. This individual is responsible for setting up on-line registration, keeping track of payment, and running check-in during the Conference. This person must be personable and willing to work with large numbers of people, as 150+ attendees are expected.
Women's Leadership Conference Solicitations: This individual will keep in close contact with Gainesville businesses and University departments and colleges. The solicitations director is responsible for securing advertisements and giveaways for the Conference.
Women's History Month Programming Director: The Programming Director will work closely with the Women's History Month committee and student organizations on campus to coordinate events for Women's History Month 2010. This individual is responsible for making sure the calendar is full of diverse and engaging events, co-sponsored by a variety of student organizations.
Women's History Month Publicity Director: This member of the Council is responsible for making the campus and community aware of the vision of Women's History Month and the events being held through publicity and marketing. This includes but is not limited too creating fliers, writing press releases, and working with media outlets.
