The Women's Leadership Council presents The 23rd Annual Women's Leadership Conference
Date: February 21, 2010
Time: 10am - 4pm
Location: JWRU Rion Ballroom
The Women's Leadership Conference is an annual event for all UF students as well as members of the community. The Conference provides an array of workshops focusing on career, leadership and awareness in addition to a career panel and keynote speaker.

Keynote Speaker: Wendy Abberger from Leadership Florida
Wendy Abberger has earned many awards and held numerous positions throughout her life as a result of her powerful leadership skills and drive to succeed. She has served as the executive director/president of the Leadership Florida Statewide Community Foundation, Inc. since 1989. Leadership Florida's vision is, "As a strong and growing community of Florida leaders built on trust, we are recognized as an important catalyst for creating new opportunities for our state through our powerful connection with one another and the extended reach of the organization." Some of Wendy's overall responsibilities include the annual class program, membership programs, and outreach activities including College Leadership Florida, Connect Florida, the Florida Executive Leadership Program, programs for members of the Florida Legislature, as well as the Florida League of Cities and the Florida League of Mayors, and the Leadership Florida Sunshine State Survey. In addition, Abberger is the immediate past president of the Florida Economic Club, and serves on the advisory board of the University of Florida's Askew Institute on Politics and Society.
Philanthropy and Charity Drive
At this year's conference the Women's Leadership Council will be collecting items for Arbor House, a local home for single and expectant mothers. You may drop off items to the Center for Leadership and Service in Peabody Hall, or bring them to the Women's Leadership Conference on February 21.
For the Residents:
- Infant Wipes & Diapers (sizes 3 and 4)
- Household Paper Products: trash bags, paper towels, toilet paper, tissues, napkins, etc.
- Household Cleaning Supplies: disinfectant spray, dishwasher soap, Windex, dish soap, etc.
- Infant OTC Tylenol, saline, diaper cream, etc.
- H E Laundry Soap
- CFL light bulbs
- Bike Helmets, Toddler size (age 7 mo. - 2 yrs.)
- High Chair (must have straps)
- Gift Cards (Albertsons, Publix, Walmart, Lowes, Target)
For the Office:
- White copy paper
- First Class Stamps
- Folding Chairs
For Cottage Industries, our small business:
- Rice
- Batting
- Fabric
- Glue sticks (strong hold, no washable or children's glue)
- Thread
- Old Calendars (we make them into envelopes)
- White card stock
- Old ties
- Buttons
