Meet the Executive Board

Angela Garcia

Director - Angela Garcia

I am a fourth year Sociology major, and Non-Profit Minor. I got involved with GNP because I wanted to meet other people that were interested in the same things I am. I have a passion for service and love helping other people. Joining this organization has led me to meet a bunch of new people, create great networks, and allowed me, as the Director to show others about my passion as well. Outside of my GNP and other extracurricular work; I like to do outdoorsy things, travel, and take lots of pictures while I'm doing those things.

David Berndt

Vice President - David Berndt

I am a fourth year English Major. The non-profit sector has always been of interest to me. This interest is deeply rooted in my zeal to serve others. It is of great importance for me to consider others better than myself in order to make sure the needs around me are met. This outlook on life has led me into Gator Non-Profit Professionals. GNP has enabled me with a platform to turn my passions into a profession. Apart from GNP I enjoy the outdoors and any extreme activity that pushes my personal limits.

Cynthia Valdez

Secretary - Cynthia Valdez

Hey there, I'm a fourth year African Studies/Women's studies interdisciplinary major and minoring in Latin American Studies. I am currently the secretary for GNP and am super excited to contribute to see where this year takes our organization. The nonprofit sector for me has been something I have always seen myself in. Working with countries in Africa and Latin America is my ultimate dream and it has been confirmed ever since I went on a FAB trip to Guatemala. I feel as though I my heart goes out to all people around the world and if it weren't for my love for others I would not have gotten this far in life. To help those in need is my motivation, my love and most of all my way of life!

Cathy Berrouet

Historian - Cathy Berrouet

Hi, I'm Cathy! I am currently a smiling Senior, pursuing a Bachelors of Science degree in Recreation, Parks, and Tourism with a specialization in Recreation Programming. I am currently involved in the NAACP Gator Chapter, serving as the Juvenile Justice Director, as well as the UNITY Coordinator. I am also involved with CHISPAS and as the 2010's Alternative Spring Break Trip Coordinator. One thing I've experienced in life is that the key to leadership is serving. Jesus said in Proverbs 11:2 that with humility comes wisdom. If everyone helped one another, I really believe the world would be a different place. My future aspirations are to open my own non-profit recreational facility or foster home, based on principles of love and truth, for all children who need it most. This is why I joined GNP, because I want to support the goodness that non-profit professionals do. I also do love to dance and absolutely love the color pink!
