ServeFest

ACTIONS! will be hosting a musical event entitled ServeFest on February 21st, 2009 at the Reitz Union Amphitheater and Colonnade starting at 5:00pm.
- The event will begin with an Organizational Fair and Silent Auction taking place on the Colonnade at 5:00 pm. Over 20 of The University of Florida's finest organizations will be tabling with information on getting involved and serving the community.
- Starting at 7:00 pm the focus of the event will then turn to the musical extravaganza, which will take place promptly at the Reitz Union Amphitheater. There will be FREE Food, Live Entertainment, Raffles, and Lots of Fun.
The overarching aim of ServeFest is for music to serve as medium for community involvement and activism. This year we plan to take ServeFest to new heights. In conjunction with the live entertainment and music, we will also be raising funds for The Child Advocacy Center of Gainesville, Florida, and the Invisible Children Foundation. The Silent Auction will be conducted to aid in raising funds.
The motto for ServeFest 2009 is "Aiming to Combat the Silent Pain." We are currently looking to raise awareness about various issues that have been "silenced." These issues include Sickle Cell Disease, domestic violence, global poverty, child abuse and the mass atrocities occurring in Darfur, Northern Uganda, and the DR Congo.
EVERYONE IS WELCOME TO ATTEND!
