WHAT?
The Raise Your Voice Month Campaign, presented by ACTIONS!, is a national effort to increase, celebrate and deepen the student civic engagement efforts on college campuses around the country. This campaign is a student-led initiative to encourage students to take action toward social change.
The Raise Your Voice Month campaign has a clear message for students:
Change starts with you. Act now to create the world you want to live in tomorrow.
What is UF's role in Raise Your Voice Month?
The Raise Your Voice Month campaign at UF will:
- Inform students about the importance of becoming active citizens.
- Educate students about imperative social issues facing our society.
- Motivate students to become involved in public life.
- Give students the power and opportunities to use their voice to address issues and create solutions for the challenges facing our democracy.
Events at UF will include: Speaker Series, Dialogues/Discussions, Lunch Series, Issue Fairs, Candle Light Vigils, Film Series, Volunteer Events, an Art Exhibit, Nonverbal Dialogues, and Much More!
Most of these events will be ongoing and will focus on different issues throughout the month.
How can your organization help?
Organizations are invited to join us in the Raise Your Voice Month Campaign either by collaborating on a current event or by creating a new event. All events in connection with the Raise Your Voice Month Campaign will be publicized through a calendar for the entire month.
WHEN?
Raise Your Voice Month is February 22nd to March 31st.
At UF, we will be focusing on a different issue each week, beginning with Sickle Cell disease, then domestic violence, global poverty, and human rights and genocide.
WHO?
Any organization that is interested in promoting civic engagement and important social issues is welcomed and encouraged to become a part of the Raise Your Voice Month campaign.
