Hunger and Homelessness: November 15-21
Did you know that The National Coalition for the Homeless has ranked Gainesville, for the second time, America's 5th meanest city to the homeless? Did you know that Gainesville has 1,600 people in its hunger and homeless population?
ACTIONS! Hunger and Homelessness Week 2009 is Coming! This week will be held from November 15-November 21, 2009. Join ACTIONS! November 15-21 for a week-long endeavor dedicated to building awareness about hunger, homelessness, and poverty within our community. Hunger and Homelessness (H&H) Week is filled with events created to help dismantle stereotypes and misinformation about homelessness. It also provides students with opportunities to take action and get involved!
This year's theme is: "It Could've Been Me." This week is a great way to get involved in the community and to help raise awareness and end causes of hunger and homelessness. JOIN the Facebook Group for updates and discussions.
Please contact Courtney Hubbard (chubbard@ufl.edu) if your organization is interested in participating in any of these events.
