Community Agency Spotlight
Lubee Bat Conservancy

Lubee Bat Conservancy is an international non-profit that manages the largest and most diverse collection of fruit bats in the world. However, the fruit bat population is disappearing at an alarming rate. This organization allows the bats to live comfortably while providing researchers the ability to collect information and help focus conservation efforts on an animal that is difficulty to study in the wild. Lubee Bat Conservancy dedicated to saving bats and their habitats through research, conservation, and education, with a focus on community engagement. There are three ways to volunteer: We have year round opportunities to volunteer for those that qualify, your group may volunteer together for large projects, or if you are looking to volunteer a single time, you may consider our Annual Florida Bat Festival which typically takes place the last Saturday in October.  Visit http://lubee.org/ for more information!
